ATTENDANCE numbers were down at yesterday’s 107th annual Devonport Show, but organisers are hoping for a boost on the show’s final day today.

“It’s a little bit disappointing but we’re happy with how the day has gone and we’re looking forward to tomorrow,” Devonport Show Society president Lesley Young said yesterday.

“There’s been about 3000 paying through the gate today but there’s a few who have bought tickets through Woolworths.”

Ms Young said the most popular events yesterday were the animal nursery, Tasmanian devil display, home industry section and the Woolworths local food samples.

“There’s a lot more going in tomorrow” she said, with the Bootscootin Devils group performing, agriculture competitions, woodchopping, Devonport Brass Band, and Ben and Grant Milbourne’s Mystery Box Challenge all to come.

Ms Young advised show-goers to take advantage of the free parking on the central arena, in the middle of the showgrounds.

Drivers can enter through the Parker Street gate and purchase their tickets on the way into the show.

The 107th annual Devonport Show continues today, from 9am until 3pm. Tickets are $15 for adults, $8 for children, $10 for concession and $25 for families (2 adults and 3 children). Children under four are free.
